Sideways, backwards, forwards all during cycling

Why not try to design a bicycle which will allow you to change the direction in which you ride independent from the way you look?
At the basis of the design stands the modern flexible drive, otherwise all would have to be done with gearing, interesting but complicated.
I use the word cycle for his contraption as the driving force the feet still rotate. It clearly is no BI-cycle, maybe a sex-crus, but that might be misunderstood
